Have you ever done one of those visual exercises when you stare at a picture until you see the second picture hidden within the first? That is a great explanation of how I spent most of my life. I kept looking at the first picture, unaware of the hidden one, and unable to see it.
Too often we remain prisoners in our mindsets because we are either unaware of the deeper Truth, or we just can't see it. We don't ever get traction in our faith journey because we focus on circumstances around us, and don't believe there is more.
I love this verse in Colossians 3:1.
Christ's resurrection is your resurrection too.
Jesus died so that we can live. But the enemy of our soul, His enemy, works to keep us looking at the prison walls instead of the deeper picture, the one that shows us we are in fact free. But we know that following Christ's resurrection our true life is hidden away in God as we live within Jesus. (Colossians 3:3)
How do we see His picture? Focus on His truth. What we look at comes into focus. The more we look at His Truth, the more clear and prominent it becomes. Give it a try. It's there if you look for it.
Dare to look. Dare to hope.
